Obesity Control

Obesity control is a concern on every parents mind. May be parents are the people who are unknowingly inducing bad eating habits in their kids, at the very first place. These days breakfast include sweet cereals and butter, cheese on regular basis.

Kids generally get completely sick of the canteen food at school and tend to skip meals on regular basis. Though the canteen food at school is planned so as to meet all the nutrition requirements of the child, however the same smell of the canteen may make the child sick just for no reason. Since he has skipped lunch, now he tends to have a heavy evening snack. To be frank, this is complete junk. It includes chips, burgers, pizzas, meat packs, and loads of saturated fats going into the young tummy.

These days every third child is suffers from obesity for this very same reason. Obesity is when excess body fat gets accumulated to an extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and results in increased health problems. Exercise is always kept for the last in a child’s routine. The child need not be blamed completely for his over eating habits. The peer pressure for academic performance, fighting loneliness because of working parents and many mental tensions lead to over eating in young kids. Being obese may just take away your child’s confidence as he may be made fun on.

Inculcating habits of daily exercise and reducing his calorie intake without making him self-conscious about it is good for your child’s body and also future. It’s observed very often, that children may act stubborn on getting out of the house to work out. What you can do is keep him unaware about you wanting him to exercise. To get started you may ask him to accompany you on a trek to the hill. Or walk you down to the market. Make exercise a fun activity. Then slowly refrain him form eating packed junk food also let him know the effects he may have to suffer. Start including loads of greens and pulses in his diet. See to it that the presentation is done so as to tempt him and see to it enjoys it and is not forced to do so. Your child must drink a lot of water and avoid aerated sweet drinks and also keep a check on fat and chocolate intake. When you cook at home makes sure that your cuisine includes a diverse health conscious meal.

It is the responsibility of every parent to keep a check on what your child eats and its better to correct him now than seeing your child being obese and depressed all his life.
